Hello, my name is Gnat Shira. I am from the US. I am a close friend of Samir's, and I co-manage his family's campaign. However, as things change in Gaza, the goals change as well. Samir has realized he needs to escape Gaza in order to continue his life, and I support him fully. This campaign is for Samir Al-Kilani, and him only, in order to save up separate funds to travel abroad, finish school, pursue career options, and support his family remotely.
Life in Gaza is unbearable; the psychological and physical damage left for each person is indescribable. There is nothing left but wakes of destruction, suffering, loss, and utter desolation. I do not think there are words in any language that could truly capture it. I will not continue to try, as it is not something for me to truly speak on. Samir has written his message to the world; I am only here to uplift him.
"Hello friends,
My name is Sameer Al-Kilani, I’m 22 years old and a Computer Engineering student at the Islamic University of Gaza. I am currently in my final year, specializing as a web developer.
I created this campaign for myself because I am in urgent need of help. These are critical days that could define my entire future. As many of you know, life in Gaza has become extremely difficult after the devastating war that destroyed everything — homes, schools, hospitals, and every aspect of daily life.
I honestly don’t know how I survived; I have seen death many times. The war has taken away everything — my home, my stability, and my project that I worked so hard to build. My family also lost everything and is now living in very hard conditions.
Despite all of this, I kept studying and working toward my dream of graduating and starting a stable career. But now, with the destruction and lack of opportunities, it’s almost impossible to continue here.
I truly need a chance — a chance to complete my education and look toward a better future. I have applied for several scholarships abroad and am waiting for responses, but the travel costs are extremely high — around $8,000 per person. In addition, I need to pay my remaining university fees in order to receive my degree.
I’m asking for your support to help me take this step forward. With your help, I can complete my education, rebuild my life, and secure a stable future for my family after everything we’ve lost.
My goal is simple — to travel, finish my studies, and start a new life full of hope and stability.
Every contribution, no matter how small, brings me closer to that dream.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for standing with me in this difficult time."
Samir needs 1,000 $10 donations to meet his full goal of 10k. Things you can do to help are sharing the campaign link on your social medias and to your inner circles. Even a donation of the minimum $5 brings him one step closer to freedom. Thank you.
