Help Sami Avoid Homelessness & Get Back on Their Feet

Hi everyone,

We’re reaching out on behalf of our beloved friend, Sami, who is currently facing an urgent and heartbreaking housing crisis. Sami is a resilient, compassionate person who has been through more in the last five years than most of us can imagine and can really use our support.

Sami's life was traumatically turned upside down when their mother stabbed their father. Since then, Sami has taken on an immense amount of emotional and financial responsibility when they were caring for their father.

This care placed Sami in significant credit card debt, as they covered essential needs with very little support.

Sami faced discrimination as a queer, and neurodivergent person, and they've lost two jobs this year, not because of their performance, but because of systemic bias and ableism.

Despite every effort to rebuild, they keep getting knocked down.

Most recently, Sami was on the verge of securing a new apartment only to have everything fall through on the day of the lease signing.

Now, they’re left without a home, relying on the help of friends and without the funds to cover the steep upfront costs required to try again: a security deposit, first and last month’s rent, a broker’s fee, and other moving expenses.

With August fast approaching, Sami is at serious risk of being without a home. They’ve fought hard through every setback, but right now they need a community to rally behind them.

We’re asking for your support to help raise funds so Sami can secure safe and stable housing. Every dollar will go directly toward:

    •    First + last month’s rent

    •    Security deposit

    •    Broker’s fee

    •    Emergency moving & housing costs

    •    Basic essentials during this transition
