My name is Batoul, and I am organizing this GoFundMe campaign on behalf of my relative, Samer Zayed in Gaza. Samer Zayed, a 28-year-old with a master’s degree in genetics. Until recently, Samer was working as a lecturer at Al-Azhar University in Gaza and he is reaching out to you today from Gaza, where Samer and his family are facing grave danger due to the ongoing conflict.

Just a few months ago, Samer's family, consisting of six members, lived a happy life filled with dreams and aspirations. Samer was planning to start his doctoral studies in 2024 and had a promising career. Samer and his family had a beautiful home in the AlSalateen nribourhood in Gaza, and they owned an advanced medical laboratory. However, everything changed on October 7th. Their home, university, laboratory, and car were all destroyed by bombings, leaving them without any means of income. In search of safety and security, they were forced to flee to Deir al-Balah, where they now live in a tent.

Tragically, a few days ago, while Samer was sleeping in the makeshift shelter, a missile struck the neighboring house, injuring him and causing severe damage to his hand. The incident resulted in a broken hand and three pieces of shrapnel lodged in it, which the doctors were unable to remove.

Now, Samer is reaching out to seek your support to help evacuate him amd his family from Gaza to Egypt. This is not only for their safety but also for Samer to receive urgent medical treatment and have the remaining shrapnel removed from his hand.

I am reaching out to you for your kind donations and support, which will be directed towards covering the expenses associated with their travel to Egypt which are $5000 per person, and covering the medical expenses for the treatment of Samer's hand.
