Hey everyone, my name is Samayah Croley-El, and I am a college freshman attending Loyola University Chicago.

I really didn’t think I’d ever have to make one of these, but I’m out of options and could really use some help. I’m currently working toward my BFA in Dance, and I recently found out that I can’t register for classes or transfer because I owe $12,000 in fees. Until that’s paid, I can’t move forward with my education, which means I’d have to drop out.

I’ve tried everything I can: applying for loans, talking to financial aid, looking for scholarships, but nothing has worked out so far. I’m not giving up, but at this point, I can’t do it alone.

Dance has always been my passion. It’s how I express myself, and it’s what I want to dedicate my life to. My goal after graduation is to join a dance company and build a career doing what I love most. Getting my degree is a huge step toward making that dream possible.
