Hi my name is Samantha and I set up this gofundme to help me get through this difficult time. Just a little over a week ago my life as I knew it changed drastically as I was rushed into the emergency room with what I thought was a simple bloody nose. Surprisingly I was told I needed immediate dialysis after tests confirmed that my kidneys were 95% dead. My only chance of survival would be to start dialysis. The bad news did not stop there and two days into being hospitalized an abnormal heart echo showed massive swelling in and around my heart which was causing severe shortness of breath.  I now found myself fixed to an oxygen line, in pain from a catheter in my chest, and signing consent forms for chest surgery to drain excessive fluid buildup in my heart. Three hours after surgery I was back in the ICU recovering. It was explained that 400 milliliters of fluid were removed from around my heart. Any longer and I could have found myself in a cardiac arrest. I spent 13 days in the hospital dealing with several physical issues as well as trying to prepare  for what seems to be a new and challenging life of dialysis. So how do I prepare for a drastic new life? For now, I have to adjust to a permanent accessorie and daily dialysis. The long term goal is to hopefully find a compatible kidney doner so that I may continue to reach my life goals and dreams. If we have crossed paths in life you know that I never expect anything to be given to me but I find myself in a situation in which I don't know what direction my health will take me in and any help would be a huge blessing.
