Hi, my name is Samantha, and I’ve always had a deep love for animals, especially cats and dogs. I’ve been rescuing and fostering for a few years now, and together with my mom, we spay and neuter stray animals from the streets every time we can.

Lately, I’ve taken in dogs that need much more than just sterilization, many are sick, elderly, or injured. All expenses come out of my own pocket, and at this point, it’s become more than I can financially handle, but as much as I've tried, I can not give up on helping the fur babies in need.

Currently, I have 8 dogs and 4 cats (The little kitten in the photo was our most recent rescue—she showed up in my dad’s car 4 months ago and has been with us ever since.) I also have 3 dogs in foster homes, but I still help cover some of their expenses.

In addition, I feed 5–6 stray cats that come to my home daily. They never go a day without a full bowl of food. Some even peek through my window to let me know it’s time to eat. When the weather is bad, whether it’s storms, extreme heat, or rain, I make space for them inside my house to be safe and spend the night comfortably.

My most recent rescue is an elderly dachshund (that you can see in the photos) in very poor condition. He needs several medications, a full dental surgery, and neutering. These surgeries are expensive, and since two of my recent rescues (Nina and Pia) also needed similar procedures, I’ve run low on funds. Nina is currently with a foster mom, and Pia, an extremely old blind chihuahua, stayed with us forever.

While I don’t have my own shelter (yet!), I support a close friend who runs a small rescue of over 70 dogs, plus cats, chickens, ducks, sheep... you name it. But sadly, she’s been struggling to keep everything afloat. Just a few days ago, her only vehicle broke down, which it’s essential for vet visits and rescues, and repairs could cost up to $8,000. Unfortunately, even food donations haven’t been enough lately.

Most of the funds from this campaign will go to support her rescue, since she doesn't have a steady income to help cover the growing costs. I'll be sharing pictures of me giving her the money to share with you!!

Any amount you can give is truly appreciated. I’ve set the goal a bit higher than usual, as taxes and fees in Mexico can take away a significant portion of the total.
