Though she did not want to ask for help, one of my dearest friends- Samantha Petrone- is needing help to cover her aunt’s funeral costs. Her aunt Karen was hospitalized on June 24 with pneumonia. Samantha stayed by her side through her stay in ICU for 15 days. After being released from the ICU, she was then transferred to Select Specialty Hospital for rehabilitation. Due to rules and regulations, Samantha was unable to stay with her. She continued commuting back and forth daily. After 7 days at specialty select hospital her aunt then lost her life suddenly to a bowel perforation. Samantha was unable to work for 3 weeks. During this time she prepared her home for aunt Karen and lined up 24/7 care for her once she was discharged.

Sam spent much of her savings in the last year paying for 2 other funerals. Due to a series of unfortunate events, outside of Sam’s control, Karen’s life insurance is no longer an option either.

Though Sam did not want to ask, I see a friend in need and wanted to do something to help her. Sam is a selfless and caring human being and I pray that this GoFundMe blesses her family.
