Help Samantha Heal: Open-Heart Surgery Fund

Hey everyone Samantha had her Surgery yesterday it went wonderfully. They were able to repair her valve. She is now beginning the recovery part of the process.

They did receice a list of items that they will need to purchase to help with her recovery so we are really grateful for all the help that you all have been giving and all the prayers that you have been sending.

I am setting up this fundraiser for my sister-in-love, Samantha, who will be undergoing open-heart surgery for a mitral valve repair because her heart valve is leaking severely. Until recently her condition was able to be managed with medication. Then suddenly she began feeling unwell and brought her symptoms to the attention of her cardiologist. After undergoing tests, it was determined that her condition had deteriorated very rapidly leading her and her doctors to decide that she is now in need of immediate surgical intervention which will be on February 28, 2025. Due to the severity of the leak, she is not able to undergo the minimally invasive surgical procedure and must have full open-heart surgery which will keep her in the hospital for 1-2 weeks and out of work for approximately 2 months. Due to the intense recovery period and help that she will need during the beginning of the recovery process my brother will also need to take an unknown amount of time off from work using FMLA at a reduced pay- which will be a big financial strain on their family of 4.

Samantha is a wonderful wife and dedicated mother to 10-year-old daughter and a 6-year-old son. If you know Samantha, you know she is a hard worker who doesn’t sit still, and she rarely asks anyone for help for herself. These are some of the reasons I wanted to set up this GoFundMe account to help her out. Whenever a family member is out of work, finances can be difficult. I know being restricted by physical and medical limitations and not being able to help provide for her family will weigh heavily on Samatha. Rather than resting and allowing her body to go at its own pace, she will push herself to do more than she should to get better faster. Like most people in her situation, it can be difficult to reach out and ask for help. It can even be difficult to know what to ask for when help is offered. Going into this surgery I know she is going to need our help and this GoFundMe will be a great way to help Samantha and her family through this stressful time - giving her and her family a little more stability to meet any medical bills, rehab needs, and general financial needs while she is sick and out of work and allowing her to take her recovery as it comes and heal properly so that she can get back to her full strength.
