Help Samantha Heal and Walk Again
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Samantha, and I recently went to Ohio to visit my daughter and granddaughter and to be there for the birth of my second grandchild. The day after I got to Ohio, I suffered an accident that caused a left lower leg and ankle fracture known as a Trimalleolar fracture. I was sent by ambulance to the emergency department where an internal reduction of the leg bones was completed, and I had an open reduction internal fixation surgery on March 27th.
I was scheduled to return home on April 3rd, but unfortunately, due to the surgery and a later wound infection, I was required to stay what became almost a month in Ohio. I have since come home as of April 18th, and although my healing is moving forward, there is still a long recovery process and many more doctors and physical therapists to see. I have no health insurance, and I work part-time and have had to take an unpaid leave from work for at least two more months. I have already spent all of my savings on medical supplies for my wound care and prescription antibiotics to help with the healing.
I am going to be without income until I am healthy enough to start to walk again and am asking for any help to get me to that point. I do not have much family, and those that I do have are not able to help. I have never planned on being in a position to ask for help from people, but I do not know how I will be able to meet my financial burdens while I am unable to walk and return to my job. I am asking for prayer and for any help that you can give towards my continued doctor care, and I am humbled by any assistance. This injury has been life-altering, and I am trying to remain hopeful while also trying to deal with the struggles of daily activities and challenges that lie ahead.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story and for any help you can offer. Blessings, Samantha
