Help Samantha Werle battle Ovarian Cancer

On November 12th, after three months of experiencing uncomfortable symptoms and many visits to the doctor, Samantha was diagnosed with stage 3c ovarian cancer. She was additionally diagnosed with polycythemia vera (a rare blood cancer), which developed as a result of her ovarian tumor.

 

Samantha will be having surgery to remove the tumor and will begin phlebotomy treatments and chemotherapy. These treatments will continue indefinitely, all the while monitoring the hopeful regression of the cancers. These types of treatments are know to have detrimental health side effects, which could prevent Samantha from working as a nurse, considering the physically demanding nature of the job.

 

In addition to the expenses of treating the cancer, Samantha will undergo the process of an egg retrieval, in hopes of preserving her fertility.

 

Even with health insurance these treatments are very expensive and are quickly adding up.  In order to alleviate the stress of lost income and to help pay for these medical expenses, we have set up this GoFundMe page. If you would like to support us, all proceeds will go towards the expense of fighting this terrible disease. We don't know exactly what the next few months will bring but we know it will be a long, hard battle and any little bit of help is appreciated, monetary or not.
