Our friend Sam recently had some unexpected and serious health issues arise :(

While out at his cabin in Lyle, Washington he experienced immediate and absolute pain in his lower abdomen and was rushed to the emergency room in White Salmon, where, after a couple of CT Scans it was revealed there had been a dissection (tear) of the left renal artery going to his kidney. This led to a blood clot in the left kidney causing 1/3 of the organ to die off. The cause of this is still a mystery to the medical team involved in the case. Sam was transported via ambulance to Kaiser Sunnyside in Portland where he spent his 41st birthday hooked up to an IV of blood thinners and pain meds. (Not as fun as it sounds)

After five days of close monitoring, he got the okay to go home (streaming tears of relief and gratitude) and into the care of his loving partner Sara and long-time sidekick Sal.

As you know Sam is self-employed and the road to recovery from this traumatic event will be a long and slow one.

We are raising funds to help cover the cost of his expenses and recovery while he is unable to work.
