My brother Sam has always worked hard his whole life, sometimes juggling two jobs at once, often at the expense of his own health. He suffers from Hidradenitis Suppuritiva and, over the years, has not taken very good care of himself. Now in his mid-50s, Sam has started experiencing serious health problems. In 2024, he was laid off from his job and lost his health insurance. In mid-October, Sam was hospitalized and, since then, he has not been able to return home.

I have done everything I can to support him, including taking money from my 401k to pay for his inpatient physical rehabilitation and to help with his bills. Unfortunately, his physical therapist has said that Sam will need at least another 4-6 weeks of rehabilitation before he is strong enough to go home. I cannot take any more money from my 401k, and I have no other resources left to help him. Our parents and older brother are gone, and Sam is all I have left.

I am reaching out for help because I want to give Sam the best chance at recovery.
