Hi everyone, I’m Jen, and I’m starting this GoFundMe for one of my very best friends - Sam Penny.

If you’ve spent any time in downtown Fort Lauderdale, chances are you know Sam — and if you do, you love her. She’s one of the most well-known and loved bartenders in town — hilarious, kind, and the kind of person who makes everyone feel like family the second you meet her. She’s also a devoted mom to two amazing kids - always working hard to give them the very best life.

But right now, Sam needs our help!

On the night of October 30th — HER BIRTHDAY — Sam was driving home from work when her car suddenly caught on fire out of nowhere. Thankfully, a police car happened to be behind her and saw the flames. They pulled her over and got her out just in time before things got worse. Within moments, the fire spread and the engine blew up.

We are beyond grateful she’s safe — but her car is completely done for. She’s now without a way to get to work or take care of daily life with her kids. Kia is currently investigating what caused the fire, but there’s no telling yet whether insurance or the manufacturer will help cover the loss.

In the meantime, she’s stressed and trying to hold everything together — especially with the holidays right around the corner. As a mom of two, she’s balancing bills, her kids’ activities, and wanting to make sure they still have a great Christmas despite all this uncertainty.

If you know Sam, you know she would never ask for help. She’s the one always helping others — making people laugh, cheering you up on a bad day, and giving her all to everyone around her. But this time, she could really use her community to show up for her.
