I’m Christy Volodin, trying to raise money for my sister Samantha Newman. Sam was recently diagnosed with APL, a form of Leukemia. We are all hopeful and confident that she will beat it, given her strength and positive outlook. She will be undergoing treatment over the 4-6 weeks at Mass General, and then followed by appx. 8-9 months of chemotherapy medication at home.

It goes without saying that the treatments and hospital stays will be considerably expensive, with actual costs being unknown at this time. However, the cost of being out of work for Sam creates an urgent need for financial help. Joe Newman, her supportive and loving husband, will be visiting her as often as possible, but there are immediate recurring costs associated with that as well.  All proceeds from this fundraiser will go directly to Sam and Joe to help them financially from loss of income and toward medical bills,  throughout this difficult time.
