Help Fund Sam’s Surgery
As many of you may know, Sam has been dealing with a number of difficult medical issues as of late.
Our lifelong friend Sam needs help funding for his Neurogenic Bladder condition. Neurogenic Bladder is a condition in which the nerves that control the bladder do not function properly, leading to difficulty with urination and various other issues. Sam’s medical team has diagnosed him with vesicoureteral reflux (VUR) as well. This condition occurs when urine dispersed from the kidney flows back up into the kidney, and can ultimately cause kidney failure. Sam has been diagnosed at grade 5 VUR (the most severe), and is at risk of losing his kidneys if he does not have surgery performed relatively soon. We are seeking help from everyone who knows and loves Sam, as he is needing to have a Suprapubic Catheter installed as soon as possible. It’s something he’ll need for life to support his overall condition. We estimate it should cost around $20,000 to cover all of the medical expenses including surgery and recovery. We understand it’s a big ask, but any help is greatly appreciated.
After Sam’s surgery is completed, we will post as much documentation as is reasonable to provide evidence that the funding is going to the appropriate place, and also update everyone on our dear friend’s recovery.
The fundraiser will stay open as long as necessary, or upon reaching the funding goal, which may be raised or even lowered depending on circumstances. And we will give updates on that if it happens. As two of Sam’s best friends, we (Matt & Sam) will be assisting in managing and distributing funds towards medical bills gained in the GoFundMe.
So let’s do this and get Sam funded for a better, healthier life!
We greatly appreciate anyone who can contribute, and thank everyone who has stood by Sam in this difficult time.
With Love and Great Appreciation,
- Matt & Sam
