Help Sam & Michelle Restore their Home

Donation protected

Hi name is Jason Brody. I attended The Sycomore Church from 2012-2015 at Pastor Sam and Michelle's house. I had the privilege of being a part of their ministry and getting to know Sam, Michelle, Sophia, and Emma Jay. Recently their home was flooded by the storm. Please donate to help them repair their basement and replace items that were lost. The following is a recent post from Michelle:

"I have cried many times throughout today not just from sheer exhaustion or from having to throw out damaged sentimental items or from feeling overwhelmed with how much more cleanup there is left... No. I have cried because of the tremendous outpouring of love, support, help and care we have received that has overpowered the deluge of Wednesday evening with a deluge of a more powerful kind over these last 2 days. The first deluge devastated and damaged. The second deluge (love) rescued, strengthened, redeemed and is restoring. How like Christ ... We are so moved and deeply grateful to so many of you for how you have blessed us, near and far. The continued texts, the DMs, the emails, the calls, the dropping off of food, cleaning products, helping with the physical labor and the jaw dropping unexpected financial gifts have all rendered us speechless. Absolutely speechless. We are thankful to you and are in awe of God's incredible, beautiful provisions, through you.

"And truly, I have been filled with nothing but peace and gratitude from the beginning for several reasons. Here's just two: (1) God's presence and (2) Our girls who have been grounding. Yes - THEY, our 15 & 11 year olds, have been very tangibly grounding US! (You'd think it's the other way around!).

"Our oldest when seeing the flood, declared, "Alright Emma Jay, it's all hands on deck!" and they have been true to Sophia's declaration over these two days, from sun-up to sundown. They have helped in countless ways - with JOY (say what?!) - and they have not uttered a single complaint, not even when yelling out loud and making funny never heard before sounds, through their showers because it's so cold due to the boiler being out (we have been grateful it's not the middle of winter!!). Sophia said tonight after her shower, "I feel kind of good and happy - I think it's because of the cold showers!" (I had mentioned one time that some folks take ice baths or cold showers on purpose to help stave off depression and/or to have a clearer head... Who knows, maybe we'll all come out with a new practice after this? ...). Emma Jay last night at dinner said, "Mom, imagine if we were much younger? We wouldn't be able to help you and dad as much!" Tonight, she massaged mine and Sam's back . They have accommodated their bedrooms to make it work for everyone. Sophia gave up her room and put up an "Airbnb" sign with the room "address" being our wedding anniversary date. I can go on and on and want to brag on our girls more (ha!) but I'll cap it here and say that both girls have risen to the occasion and have taken moments to care for us. They have grown so much... I have been surprised at how resilient and strong they have been. When did our girls become so mature, big-hearted and awe-inspiring? It bewilders and blesses us.

"And so Friends, you have added to all this and it makes that peace and gratitude bubble over. We feel so incredibly loved. How can we not be filled with peace and gratitude? Thank you.

"Thank You.

Thank You.

Thank You.

"Love,

The M.E.S.S. Family
