Greetings, Sam was in a brutal mtb accident on 1/21 at China Camp. We called 911 and they responded swiftly to our remote location within 40 minutes! Thanks to my neighbor John Schwarz the medic who arrived. He was then carted down the mountain and went straight to Marin general hospital. He has been there ever since. They have done one surgery to get his broken tibia back into place and doing another surgery today to finish the procedure and remove the pins. Please send positive energy his way. It’ll be about 2-3 hours to reconstruct his lower leg and knee, they’ll know more about cartilage damage and meniscus once they’re inside. He will be there another night at minimum and then we will see if he can go home or need to go to a skilled nursing facility. His condition requires 24 hour care. Hopefully this next phase is more manageable for his wife Jamie and his kids, but time will tell. The Lewis family needs our help to offset the costs that are mounting up with medical, child, and puppy care. Please donate if you can. The Lewis family thanks you!
Stay tuned for updates on his condition and once Sam is back to his normal self I would like to put together a Courtside bbq friendly for him and all of his friends/family and our amazing biking comrades.
