Help Susan and Sam Hunter's Chihuahua Get Vital MRI

Hello, my name is Sam Hunter from Lecanto, FL. I am in need of some financial support to help pay for a medical procedure.

On Jun 16, 2025, we were involved in a motor vehicle accident. My wife and I suffered minor injuries. However, one of our little Chihuahua dogs did not fare as well. She was in her little cage in the rear seat on the driver's side of the car. The impact of the collision forced her kennel to move sharply, causing her to violently hit the inside of the cage. As I removed her from the car, she was not able to use her back legs. After visiting her veterinarian and performing an X-ray, it did not show any spinal fractures. However, it was advised that an MRI be done to determine the extent of her injuries. The cost of the MRI is between $3,000 and $6,000, and we are not able to pay that amount. We have already paid over $1,800 for the office visits, X-ray, and pain medication.

This procedure will let us know what the injuries are and what our options will be going forward.

If surgery is necessary, we will have to decide whether to spend another $8,000 to $10,000 or have her euthanized. If surgery is not needed, we will move forward with rehabilitation.
