On October 20th around 8am Sam went out to longboard a trail with friends, by 11:30 he was in ER with doctors fearing the worst. He suffered a severe frontal lobe brain trauma along with several internal fractures to his skull. Sam just turned 22 a week earlier. He works as a mechanic at a dealership. In his free time he enjoys biking and boarding with his friends, hanging out with family, and working on his car. Sam is a loving only child to his mother and adores his grandmother. He loves to make people’s laugh and has an enormous heart! Sam has fought a hard fight to turn his initial prognosis around, he’s fought his way off of ventilators all while only remaining conscious for couple minute increments. He still has a long fight ahead of him and we ask for your help for him and his family to be able to focus on his recovery during these hard times. His mother and stepfather have been at his bedside 12-16hrs a day and now he may have to go to a medical facility for long term care even before a rehabilitation center. If you’ve ever had family in those facilities, having a family advocate there for you can be crucial to getting proper care. So if you can help his family get through this challenging chapter anything and all is greatly appreciated.
