Help Sam Get Chest Surgery
Donation protected
When people ask me how I knew I was trans, I tell them to think about the movie Freaky Friday or the Hot Chick. Specifically, the scenes where the characters realized they are in the wrong body. It is easy to see their fear, their confusion and their anxiety. That is what waking up is like for me. When I look into the mirror, I do not see the person I thought I was. After 30 years of agonizing over the disconnect between my body and my mind, I finally realized it was time to change. Therefore, I came out to all of my friends and family. And WOW! I was so surprised by the overwhelming support. No one seemed to bat an eye. It is like they saw me for the person I always imagined I was but couldn't convey to the world. Through their support, I am starting my transition. The first step for me is chest surgery. Unfortunately, insurance rarely covers it so I am seeking donations to help me get to where I need to be. I am so thankful for anyone reading these words right now and for the endless support of my friends, family and community.
