Hello all!
I am Samantha Wendorf and I am an Emergence Artist in Residence at Culture Lab LIC in Long Island City, Queens. I'm also the director of this developmental performance of new contemporary play 'Till It Stops' written by London-based playwright Sophie Max.
In December 2020 I proposed directing a developmental and multimedia performance of 'Till It Stops' written by my dear friend Sophie. Culture Lab blessed me with the Emergence Artist Residency in January 2021 and we've hit the ground running!
Culture Lab is a non-profit performing arts space, so just being given the rehearsal space for FREE has been such a gift! However, being an artist and actor myself, I understand firsthand how hard-hit all artists have been hit in the past year due to COVID19.
This GoFundMe would cover the costs of:
-stipends for each actor
-stipends for each contributing production member: stage manager, videographer
-payment for graphic designer for poster/flyers
-props/supplies
-food/beverages for cast and crew
The livestream production of the play will air on Culture Lab's Youtube on April 17th, 2021 at 7pm EST. (Link coming soon!) The goal, pending COVID regulations, is to follow up with a proper 3-weekend run.
I am so grateful to each individual who has allowed me to create and further develop my art and craft during this time. I'm equally grateful to Sophie, who has entrusted me to develop her beautiful play at this stage. And of course, I am beyond grateful for my wonderfully talented actors who bring all of themselves to rehearsals despite our current predicaments. I want to honor all of them by compensating them for their work and contributions.
And of course I would be so grateful to anyone who can contribute even just a little bit! A little bit goes a long way. =)
