Sam Saied, 15, son of Mark & Danielle Saied was diagnosed with stage 4 Rhabdomyosarcoma. A very rare and aggressive cancer. This diagnosis caught everyone off guard.
Sam had been in out of doctor’s offices for a couple of months for what they thought was a sinus infection. On February 11th he had a follow up appointment since he wasn’t getting better. He was immediately admitted to BSA hospital in Amarillo where he was diagnosed with cancer in his sinus cavity and his parents were informed it is already in stage 4. Since his diagnosis a few days ago it has spread into his brain cavity & his bones. They immediately started treatment to help slow the spread and lessen size of the tumor.
Since the diagnosis a few days ago he has undergone surgery. During this first surgery they unfortunately had to remove half of his skull to stop a brain bleed. He is expected to require more surgeries and treatments.
Sam is an extremely talented and amazing young man. Sam loves soccer, he’s an amazing singer - one of the best in Texas. He enjoys serving his church at St. Thomas in Amarillo.
Sam is the youngest of 3 boys. His 2 brothers absolutely adore him and have been with him throughout this ordeal. This is going to be a long road for them as well as his parents with the physical and emotional toll this will taken . We’re making this page to help ease some of the burden of traveling back and forth to Lubbock, missed work and the significant medical bills.
The Saied family is so thankful for your generosity and asks for prayers for Sam, his brothers and their family.
