Well, this is mortifying, but hello friends! Most of you have seen my stories and vague videos or pictures showing me in some kind of medical distress. As much as I don’t want to broadcast my medical issues, a lot of you have asked how you can help and if I’m okay… and this was the easiest way to explain both.

Recently, I started to develop kidney pain in my lower back. Most of you already know this, but for those who don’t, I am diabetic, so kidney pain isn’t “uncommon” per se. I started on fluids, quit the alcohol, and tried to cleanse myself naturally while juggling 2 jobs and household bills that I was already struggling to pay.

A few days ago, I ended up in the emergency room. I had a fever of over 103 and thought I was possibly going to die; I was in so much pain. I spent days there running multiple tests with no luck but still unable to get my fever to go down. Finally, on day 3, I was able to get my fever to a normal level, and despite me feeling uneasy about it, I was discharged. Thinking I would be feeling better since they sent me home, I immediately tried to go back to work. Nothing some meds can’t fix, right? WRONG. I had a fever all night and woke up to a phone call saying I need to go back to the ER NOW. Scary. So I called my jobs and was on my way to the hospital again. When I got there, they explained to me that I have a bacterial infection in my bloodstream, which is extremely dangerous for anyone, especially a diabetic. I was then admitted. Being that I was in the ER, they had to transport me by ambulance to the closest hospital where I am currently writing this sob story. I met with the infectious disease doctor who explained that the infection in my bloodstream had given me a severe kidney infection with an abscess, and we discussed further options of how to treat it, which leads me to pretty much where I am now.

I'm scared but relieved that after days of this, we found the culprit. However, with an infection in the bloodstream and working in food and beverage… who KNOWS how long I will be out of work. They will be giving me a port in my arm to do at-home antibiotic IV treatments for a minimum of two weeks. And I hate to admit it, but I need help. I have raised money for my pup (thank god he is still with me) and for my nieces cheer (she is crushing it) but I haven’t asked for help for myself. With June's rent still not paid in full and July right around the corner, the last thing I need to do is jeopardize my health to rush back to work to pay my bills. But if I don’t pay my bills, I have nowhere to live. I am so thankful for the friends and family who have been helping me with no questions asked, but I cannot rely solely on them to help me at least pay my rent and car while I recover from this. Not to mention the outrageous medical bill I will likely receive after this is all said and done… :(

So loves of my life, if you can donate and/or share and help me to relieve some of this stress on my plate so I can focus on getting healthy again, you have NO IDEA how much it would mean. No amount is too small. And at the very least, pray for me. This has been unimaginably painful and stressful and scary, and I’m ready to close the chapter on it.

Love you guys long time.
