Hello, my name is Kody and I’m starting this GFM on behalf of our friend Sam, and her sweet cat Gladys. As some of you may already know, Sam unexpectedly lost Gladys last week, and she could use some support with covering the costs that accrued while trying to figure out what was wrong and getting her the care that she needed. Even though the vet was not able to save Gladys, Sam is still responsible for the treatment they provided leading up to her passing.

Being the sweet cat adventurer that she is, Gladys escaped out a window and onto the roof, and unknowingly to everyone, ate something she shouldn’t have. Fast forward a few days, Gladys has started to act not like herself, so Sam made the wise decision to take her into the vet. After discussing her symptoms, blood work, and getting imaging it was confirmed that Gladys had an abdominal obstruction, and needed emergency surgery. Unfortunately, just before she went under for the surgery, a blood clot that had formed in her lungs caused her to pass away.

I have always really admired Sam, she is without a doubt one of the most hardworking artists I know. It’s not easy to make ends meet as a full time artist, but she works incredibly hard to stay true to her calling, and is dedicated to following her passion. I also love how supportive she is of all makers, encouraging others to get out and support local artists.

The sudden loss of Gladys has been absolutely heartbreaking, and Sam needs time and space to grieve, without worrying about being thousands of dollars in debt. If you have the means, please consider donating any amount you are able, and/or giving this campaign a share, so we can get as many eyes on this as possible. The sooner this debt is off her mind, the sooner she can fully focus on healing after this loss.
