Help Sam Cargill in his battle with Cancer
Elizabeth Sokolowski and her husband have a 3 year old, a 17 month old and Elizabeth is currently pregnant. After 5 years of trying very hard to start a family, they finally had Sam, three years old, followed by Charlie and now they have their third child on the way.
On March 28, 2019 Elizabeth noticed a large mass in Sam's scrotum that was very hard to touch. It was bluish in colour. Elizabeth and her husband took Sam to Sick Kids Hospital on March 29, 2019. Sam was given a CT Scan which showed a tumour that is invading the left renal vein. Sam was started on Heparin drip to prevent blood clot. They put in a port for Intravenous access and Chemotherapy.
Sam started Chemotherapy on March 30, 2019. Elizabeth 's husband was laid off last year from his job when the company downsized. He has been home looking after the kids. Elizabeth's has been off work since March 29, 2019. She was getting stress leave income which was only 55% of her income. Due to the fact that Elizabeth was on maternity leave for a year and just came back 3 months ago, she has not built up enough hours to extend her leave. She is now without income. Sam will require surgery in 4 weeks and will require more chemotherapy after surgery. She will be off for a while from work.
We are trying to raise funds to assist Sam with his medical expenses and allow us to provide for our family during this very difficult time. Literally any amount of help would be so truly appreciated.
