Help Sam and Ollie Get Out of a Toxic Environment

Hi! My name is Sam. I'm a 28-year-old nonbinary (they/them) mom. I live with my current spouse and our three-year-old son, Ollie. My spouse is emotionally abusive and manipulative. He spent years isolating me and chipping away at my self-esteem. He also tends to behave harshly toward our son, who has some sensory and behavioral challenges. With the help of a few friends (and an excellent therapist) I've realized that his behavior is not okay and that it is harmful to me and my kiddo. As is often the case, he's not super happy about that, and is fighting against my decision to divorce him. Recently I learned that he plans to try to block me from taking my son with me when I move out of state. He won't win - I do 98% of all childcare and have since my son was born, I manage 100% of the household, he doesn't have a leg to stand on - but now I do have to hire a lawyer, which I hadn't anticipated needing to do. On top of that, I have to pay more than a full month's rent to break my lease early. My car needs some repairs before it can drive across the country. I need enough money to tide me and my son over until I start a new job, and I need enough money to cover moving costs. All in all, I'm needing approximately $5000 to cover everything. I don't have any savings at this time. I do plan to pick up extra hours where I can, but for my mental health and the safety of myself and my child, I need to reach this goal as quickly as I can.
