I rescued Sal from being euthanized at a kill shelter in Downey, Los Angeles, CA. Sal is now approximately 11 years old and has been with me loyally since he was 3. I remember the first night I met him—when he was finally safe, lying down in my bedroom, Sal rolled onto his back and reached out to shake my paw. Ever since then, I could tell he was so relieved and happy to be rescued and spared from death. He has been with me through thick and thin, always by my side.
Sal takes care of me while I am enduring the health challenges of what Chronic Kidney Disease and Congestive Heart Failure does to a person. Recently, my own healthcare expenses for these conditions have depleted my funds, making it difficult to cover Sal's urgent medical needs. Now, Sal needs help with emergency veterinary care and the costs that I am compelled to provide for him.
It is not easy at all to go through the serious pain of watching Sal constantly vomit and have diarrhea, or experience liquid stools just from eating and drinking water. When I look at Sal, when I am with him, it is quite emotional and very sad to see him throw up everything that goes into his body, then to witness how his body shakes and quivers as a result of being extremely dehydrated and losing weight. The look in Sal’s eyes, the pain and discomfort, and the amount of effort and work it takes to clean up after him from the pain he is in right now leads me to reach out to as many of you as I can to ask for the funds to help support Sal right now.
I must do for him what he has done for me—emotionally and physically helping me to persevere. Now that Sal needs help and the money to cover his care, I believe that lack of money should not determine the value of his life. Doctor and veterinary expenses should not limit or take away his life, and neither should my own financial situation. Can you please help me to help him and provide the medical care that is necessary to heal or relieve him? We are unable to diminish his painful condition right now until we have the necessary funds he needs. Thank you very much—Sal and I are very grateful for your help.
