Salma’s Story – A Little Girl Dreaming to Heal and Smile Again
My name is Loay, and I’m the father of a beautiful little girl named Salma, who is 7 years old and lives in Gaza Strip. Since she was born, Salma has never known a normal childhood. This is now the third year in a row that she has lived through the horrors of war, fear, and deprivation.
One tragic day, a fire broke out in our home as we were forced to cook using open flames due to the lack of cooking gas. The fire quickly spread and caused severe second- and third-degree burns to Salma’s face, neck, and left arm. In a single moment, her life changed forever.
Salma is now suffering from intense physical and emotional pain. She urgently needs specialized medical treatment and reconstructive surgeries, which are not available in Gaza due to the ongoing blockade and the collapse of the healthcare system. Essential medications, burn creams, and even basic wound care supplies are simply unavailable.
On top of that, Salma lives in conditions where children are stripped of their basic rights. No school, no proper nutrition, no medicine, and no safety. With food and medicine prices rising by over 100%, we are unable to afford even the most basic necessities—let alone the cost of life-saving treatment.
Despite being only seven, Salma has already survived three wars. And every time, she asks me with tearful eyes:
“Baba, when will we live like the other children?”
I’m reaching out with a father’s desperate plea:
Please help me save my daughter. Help us give Salma the chance to heal, to smile again, and to live the childhood she deserves.
Every donation, no matter how small, can make a difference and bring hope to her shattered world.
- Your support today could save Salma’s future and give her a new beginning.

Salma is an innocent little girl whose small body is weighed down by deep burns covering her face, shoulders, and chest. For a month now, she has been silently enduring pain on a hospital bed, undergoing repeated surgeries without success, as the essential medicines are unavailable. Her delicate features are hidden behind white bandages, and her voice is choked between pain and patience.
Today, Salma’s only need is an urgent medical transfer abroad, away from the suffering and shortages. She deserves a chance at life, far from the fire that stole her childhood.
This is a humanitarian call to everyone who can help: Please, save Salma before her suffering takes her away from us.
