Help Sally Giamalis on her Recovery Journey
Donation protected
On Friday June 16th, Sally suffered a severe cerebral hemorrhage while kayaking in Maine. Sally was rushed to a local hospital where a drain was put into her brain to stabilize her. She was then life flighted to Portland, Maine. Over the next two weeks she endured a variety of additional setbacks including a stroke.
Sally has been a lover of the outdoors all her life and enjoys hiking, biking, kayaking, skiing and spending time with her two golden retrievers. She also spent a good portion of her life helping others as a first responder, ski patroller, scholarship fund manager, and therapy dog team.
For thirty years I have been blessed to share my life with her and am asking you to help me bring her back from this traumatic event. Sally has already spent 4 weeks in the Neuro Intensive Care Unit and is expected to need 18 months to two years of intensive rehab. The following is a list of funds currently needed to help in this long journey:
• $10,000 to cover insurance deductible costs.
• $4,000 for temporary housing accommodations
• $3,000 for ambulatory needs to transfer her back to her home state
• $8,000 for in-patient acute rehabilitation not covered by insurance
• $25,000 for long term rehabilitation in a skilled nursing facility
Sally and I would appreciate any contributions to help offset the costs of her recovery journey.
