Living with a colostomy has been one of the hardest challenges I’ve ever faced. After a life-threatening medical emergency, I spent two weeks in a coma and underwent multiple surgeries, including one through the middle of my stomach. The recovery has been long and difficult, and there were times when it was hard to find hope. Now, I have the chance to get my colostomy reversed, but I need to travel to see a specialist in either Los Angeles or San Francisco. The costs of travel, appointments, and ongoing care are more than I can manage alone.

This surgery is essential for me to regain my independence and quality of life. In addition to the medical expenses, I need new bedding—like a comforter and easy-to-clean sheets—to maintain a clean and safe environment during my recovery. Good hygiene is critical for healing, and having the right supplies will make a real difference as I prepare for and recover from surgery.

I need to have the procedure done by the coming new year, so there’s some urgency in getting the support I need.
