A mother and her young daughter are trying to escape a life-threatening domestic violence situation and start over somewhere safe. After years of isolation, control, and severe physical abuse, she made the brave decision to leave. But leaving isn’t the end of the danger—it’s the most dangerous moment. To truly protect herself and her child, she must relocate and rebuild her life with entirely new identification and credentials so they cannot be found
Sally is someone many of us once knew as the person who never missed a happy hour, who always showed up for friends, and who loved being a mom. A few years ago she met someone she believed was the love of her life. After they married, things slowly began to change.
The man she married "Jack" began isolating her from friends and family. Eventually he convinced her to quit her job, leaving her financially dependent and cut off from the people who cared about her.
Sally had a one-year-old daughter named Taylor when they met. At first, he acted like he truly cared about her child. Over time, however, the situation in the home became increasingly concerning. There were signs that things were not safe, including unexplained injuries to their family dog and a suspicious broken arm suffered by Taylor when she was only two years old.
Then Taylor ingested bleach. That was the moment Sally realized something was terribly wrong and tried to report her concerns. Without clear evidence, nothing could be done. She attempted to leave and moved in with her mother, but threats and intimidation forced her back.
Not long after returning, the abuse escalated. Sally suffered black eyes , bruises on 30% of her body and a concussion. Jack was arrested and ordered to stay away from her. Unfortunately, as many survivors know, protective orders do not always stop harassment and intimidation. He has also gotten other family members involved.
Since then there have been ongoing incidents that have left Sally and her family living in fear. Her dog "strangled himself", her mom is often being followed and was robbed. Right now, the safest option for her and her daughter is to leave and start over somewhere far away where they can rebuild their lives safely.
At this moment, Sally and Taylor are in a "safe location", but he's found them before so we are racing against time.
This fundraiser will help cover:
• Relocation to a new state with a new identity.
• Housing and basic living expenses just for a few months.
• Legal costs related to protection and Divorce
• Childcare and essentials for Taylor while Sally gets a job.
If you know me, you know I would never ask for help like this lightly. I have personally verified the situation and stepped in because Sally’s safety — and her daughter’s safety — truly depend on it.
Domestic violence situations are escalating nationally. My greatest fear is that without help, Sally could become another story we read about after it’s too late. I cannot stand by and let that happen if there is something I can do.
If you are able to give, even $1 or $5 makes a difference. If donating is not possible, please consider sharing this fundraiser so Sally and Taylor can reach safety and begin a new life free from fear or even death. Taylors biological dad was killed in a car accident when she was in the womb so Sally is her only living parent.
Your kindness, prayers, and support mean more than words can express.
Thank you for helping protect a mother and her child.
