Help Sally Access Life-Saving Meds for Rare Brain Cancer
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Nancy, and I’m fundraising for someone incredibly special to me — my cousin Sally.
Sally isn’t just family — she’s my soul sister, my inspiration, and one of the brightest spirits I’ve ever known. She’s always been full of life: creative, bold, and endlessly kind. The type of person who dances in the rain, who laughs in the face of struggle, and who makes everyone feel seen and loved.
But right now, Sally is in the fight of her life.
Earlier this year, she was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive brain tumor called Pleomorphic Xanthoastrocytoma (Grade 3), triggered by BRAV V600E mutation. In February, she underwent a major brain surgery. Just two months later, in April, everything changed again — Sally suffered a massive stroke caused by a sudden brain bleed from the tumor’s rapid regrowth. The stroke has left her paralyzed on her right side.
Her doctors have prescribed two targeted medications — Tafinlar and Mekinist — that offer a real chance at stopping the tumor from growing.
But here’s the heartbreaking truth: as of now, these medications have been declined by the insurance company and aren’t covered. They cost over $18,700 CAD each month. As a family, we’re doing everything we can, but the cost is far beyond what we can manage alone.
That’s why I’m asking for your help.
Every single donation will go directly to purchasing her life-saving medication, which doctors and research say could significantly increase her lifespan.
Everyday without medications is a risk we cannot take. Sally has so much more to give this world, she has fought hard but now needs a village around her to carry her through.
If you know Sally, you know she’s a fighter. She’s always been the one cheering the loudest for others — now we need to cheer for her.
Help us give Sally the chance she deserves.
