Meet Salem, the cuddliest and silliest little love bug. Salem is 7 years old and the best cat / emotional support kitty you could ever ask for.

On Sept 14th my sweet boy woke me up at 1:30 am violently throwing up blood, shaking and yowling in pain. We waited a bit to see if things would slow down but it kept getting worse so to the emergency vet we went. After a bunch of texts, x-rays and examination, we only had more questions.. We were released with an injection for anti nausea and told to monitor until we got the tests back.

After a few hours of being home, he was acting off again. Not eating, not wanting attention (which this boy can literally not get enough of), in and out of litter box but not using it, hissing and still nauseous even after the cerenia. So back in we go..

Vitals are still good, held over night for an ultrasound but then he was showing signs of urinary block, which is life threatening for cats if not treated immediately. So had to get him fixed up..

He went under heavy sedation for a Urinary Catheter, had multiple X-rays to confirm placement and reinsertion, all the meds and fluids, kidney tests, blood work and man the list goes on.. Salem spent 36 hours with the catheter in and thankfully all went well. He is now home and recovering with meds, prescription kitty food and all the snuggles his heart could desire.

While I do not expect to meet this goal, any help would be greatly appreciated. I am a single mom of a teen boy and Salem is our life. I now have an insane amount of debt to pay back while still trying to support the 3 of us.

All of the funds raised will go directly towards Salems medical expenses accrued at AVES. If/when the goal is met I will be closing the fundraiser.
