Hi! My name is Denisha and I'm fundraising for my sister Cali and her cat Salem. On Monday March 29th and 30th Salem started vomiting. By March 31st, he was still vomiting, had lost all interest in food, and had not used the litter box. That day the vets found a blockage in his small intestine. Surgery was done and he was sent home to recover. On April 1st, Salem's gums turned white, he was refusing food and water, and was lethargic. He was brought back to the same vet who told Cali that his intestines were inflamed. They gave him fluids and sent him home again. Today, April 2nd, Salem continued to refuse food, remained lethargic, and was experiencing shallow/laboured breathing. Cali brought him to a different emergency vet, where she has now been told that Salem should not have been discharged after the surgery, and that because he was there are now other complications from surgery. He is at risk of infection and sepsis, and is currently in critical condition. Vet bills are climbing higher and higher, currently sitting around $10,000.
