Hi,

My name is Marissa Routledge from Oakville, Ontario. I am writing on behalf of my dear friend Salameh Ibrahiem who along with the 11 members of his family have been subjected to incessant bombing, starvation, and so many other horrors just trying to survive in Gaza. In just a few weeks they saw their entire lives destroyed in the most heartbreaking ways imaginable. Salameh is trying to evacuate himself, his 2 parents, his 4 sisters, 1 brother along with his wife and 2 children. No one should have to endure such atrocities, please help give them a chance to resettle and safely restart their lives. All funds will be directly wired to Salameh. As the Egyptian border is currently closed, and the price of food and life saving supplies have skyrocketed, at the moment, Salameh and his family are currently in desperate need of your donations simply to avoid starving to death. We are hoping that eventually all donations will be able to be used for evacuation purposes but for now sadly, our main focus is keeping them stocked with food as starvation is becoming more imminent as the crisis in Gaza worsens day after day.

Salameh’s letter to the world.

Dear world,

Israeli war and bombardment have taken a toll on everyone to the point where there’s no safe place left. Friends and family have been bombed and killed. Nearly 70% of Gaza strip houses are destroyed, yet the Israeli occupation army has moved forward in launching a ground invasion on the last two safe zones in the Gaza Strip. I happen to be living in one of these two areas, in particular Deir Al Balah city, which is being bombed by the Israeli occupation army from land, air and sea. Amidst the Israeli devastation and geocide on us televised to the world, I no longer am able to continue living as normal. I fear for my live, I fear for my family’s lives too.

Therefore, I invite you to join hands in a humanitarian effort to evacuate from the horrors of war and have a chance for a new beginning.

My story is one of many Palestinian youth who dream of living a normal life away from the consistent killing and bombardment. In the past 7 months of the genocide on Gaza, we all have faced unimaginable scenes of death, destruction, starvation, and yet this is continuing!! I appeal to the honest and sincere world for support. After many weeks of bombs, I can only hope to escape the immediate danger and horror and pave the way for a safer, more hopeful future where I hope we can continue to resist and advocate for a free Palestine and free Gaza.

The goal is to raise enough funds to cover the costs of our collective evacuation, relocation, and initial resettlement. These funds will ensure our safety and provide an opportunity to rebuild life again from scratch.
