I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your support. My brother Sal is going through an incredibly difficult time. His best friend and loyal companion, Smokey Bear, is nearing the end of his journey. At 98 in human years, Smokey has brought nothing but love, comfort, and joy into Sal’s life—and into all of ours.

Sadly, Smokey’s health has declined, and after many heartfelt conversations, we’ve made the difficult decision to help him cross the rainbow bridge peacefully. We’re absolutely heartbroken, but we know it’s the kindest choice to prevent further suffering.

To make things even harder, Sal has recently come on hard times and is struggling financially. We want to help him give Smokey a peaceful and dignified farewell, but the cost of euthanasia and aftercare is $900.
