On 9th June 2025, my brother Saksham Saini, an international student in Australia, was driving with family when heavy rain caused his car to slip off the M80 road. The car plunged down a 150m embankment and across a creek, leaving everyone inside critically injured.
Saksham has had major surgery on his leg, with metal rods inserted, and he is non–weight-bearing for at least one year. He has undergone additional surgeries on his lower lips and chin, and has a blood clot in his left ear causing hearing loss. He is in constant pain and unable to work or support himself.
As an international student, Saksham is facing mounting bills, daily living expenses, and tuition fees while he recovers. With no ability to earn an income for many months, this situation has become overwhelming. To make matters worse, the car involved in the accident was his, and it’s now completely damaged and now, he rely on others or book Ubers just to attend medical appointments and therapy sessions — adding even more expenses during his recovery.
Any contribution, big or small, will help him cover his expenses. Your kindness will give him a chance to heal without the crushing weight of financial stress.
