Help Said and his family escape from Gaza now!
The people of Gaza are suffering through one of the most brutal campaigns of genocide in history. Over 22,000 Palestinians have been killed by the state of Israel, including at least 9,000 children. Israel continues to mercilessly bombard homes, schools, hospitals, and refugee camps. Palestinians have been forced to flee from their destroyed homes towards the Rafah crossing which borders Egypt. They need our support now more than ever!

One of these Palestinian refugees is Said Zaaneen, a PhD student from the University of Sheffield. Said and his wife, Ferial, have three young children: Farah, Yousef and Sama. They were forced to flee from their home, Beit Hanoun, in northern Gaza to Khan Younis in southern Gaza. Now they have been forced further south towards Rafah, and they are taking shelter in a makeshift nylon tent in the Al-Mawasi ‘humanitarian zone’, a vast empty area described by WHO as a ‘recipe for disaster’.

Said has lost at least 45 relatives to Israeli violence in the last 11 weeks. We are working as hard as we can to help him secure his student visa so that he and his family may return to the UK, but to do this they must be added to the Rafah crossing list so they can cross into Egypt and have their visas processed. For this, Said requires funds for supplies, accommodation, fees, and travel.

We need you to support Said! This request for financial aid comes at a crucial time; crossing at Rafah is a perilous and expensive undertaking, and Said and his family do not have reliable access to food, water, electricity, heat or medicine. Israeli bombardment continues and we are pleading for everyone to donate anything they can!

Please, donate to the Zaaneen family’s fund, and share this page with friends and family so that we can send this money through to Said as soon as possible!
