Sai is my 6-year-old dog, and she means the world to our small family. Recently, Sai began to lose strength in her back legs, and it’s been heartbreaking to watch her become partially immobile. We now have to help her walk at times, and seeing her in pain instead of her usual energetic, loving self has been incredibly difficult for all of us.

After a visit to the vet, Sai was diagnosed with suspected hypertrophic osteopathy (HO), a rare and painful bone disorder that often signals a more serious underlying condition. The vet explained that HO causes swelling and pain in the limbs, and the next step is to get advanced imaging and X-rays to find out what’s causing it and how we can help her. The outcome and her treatment depend on what the tests reveal, but we’re determined to do everything we can for her.
