Hi, my name is Josie, and this is Sai Lo — his name means “little brother” in Cantonese. He’s a two-year-old rescue cat who was found abandoned as a kitten and is now a deeply loved member of my brother’s family in Hong Kong.
I’m currently living in Australia and organising this fundraiser on my brother’s behalf, as he’s unable to set one up locally. All funds raised will go directly toward Sai Lo’s medical care.
A few days ago, Sai Lo suddenly stopped eating, began vomiting, and became very weak. The vet discovered a foreign object in his stomach, causing dehydration, and he needed emergency surgery to survive.
Thanks to the kindness and hard work of the vets and nurses, Sai Lo has made it through surgery. However, there are still unpaid medical fees and ongoing treatment costs. Despite help from family and friends, there remains an urgent shortfall of around HKD 40,000, which must be covered within five days for Sai Lo to come home and continue his recovery.
My brother hesitated to ask for help but his own medical expenses have already nearly exhausted his savings.
Sai Lo isn’t just a pet; he’s family. Any support, whether a donation, a share, or simply keeping him in your thoughts, would mean the world to us.
Thank you for reading and for supporting Sai Lo.
