Laundry Room is a trans-led DIY venue space located in Richmond, Virginia that focuses on uplifting our community, harm reduction and providing a safe place to make friends and enjoy live music.

We do not profit from our events, all funds are distributed to artists that play, for equipment rentals and to the staff we hire to help ensure a fun and safe experience - anything left over has gone to utilities (typically $5-$25).

Currently, Laundry Room is facing eviction if my roommate doesn't pay the $1,600 they owe to our landlord by December 5th.

In July of this year, my roommate that is the reason we're facing eviction forced us to stop hosting events.

My goal was to sign a new lease in May for this space with new roommates but that won't be happening if we are evicted.

My roommate keeps saying that they will have the money by the 5th but they have proven to be unreliable time and time again and i'm too scared to sit around hoping they somehow get it.

With the deadline steadily approaching to secure this $1,600, we are organizing a rent party. However, there is no guarantee that we will reach our goal to cover my roommate's portion of rent from the party alone.

I was nervous to make this GoFundMe but my friends and community have encouraged me to as the situation is looking rather bleak.
