Help Sage Fund her Tuition

Hello!

I am a first-generation undergraduate student at Mills College. I transferred to Mills three years ago from Santa Barbara City College to study Ethnic Studies with an intersectional focus on Museum Studies. I work for the Race, Gender, and Sexuality Studies (RGSS) department on campus. I also co-organize the Latine Student Collective and the Casa Tia Luna club at Mills. Outside of school I work 20 hours per week at Hasta Muerte Coffee, a local Oakland worker owned coffee shop where I help run the business alongside my co-collective members.

I created this campaign to help cover the remaining costs of my tuition and boarding fees at Mills. Currently, I owe $5,500 out of pocket for the Fall 2021 semester, even after accepting all of my grants and loans. I have been entirely financially independent since I began college and have worked and funded myself through the last four years. However, I am now struggling to remain enrolled at Mills. I am urgently trying to raise this money so I can remain enrolled and complete my bachelor's degree by May. I could not have come this far without the help I've already received from my community and any future help is deeply appreciated.

Soy una estudiante de primera generación en Mills College. Me transferí a Mills hace tres años desde Santa Barbara City College para estudiar Estudios Étnicos con un enfoque interseccional en Estudios de Museos. Trabajo para el departamento de Estudios de Raza, Género y Sexualidad (RGSS) en el campus. También coorganizo el Colectivo de Estudiantes Latines y el club Casa Tia Luna en Mills. Fuera de la escuela, trabajo 20 horas a la semana en Hasta Muerte Coffee, una cafetería local propiedad de trabajadores donde ayudo a administrar el negocio junto con los miembros del co-colectivo.

Creé esta campaña para ayudar a cubrir los costos restantes de mi matrícula y tarifas de embarque en Mills. Actualmente, debo $ 5,500 de mi bolsillo para el semestre de otoño de 2021, incluso después de aceptar todas mis subvenciones y préstamos. He sido completamente independiente desde el punto de vista financiero desde que comencé la universidad y he trabajado y financiado mi carera durante los últimos cuatro años. Sin embargo, ahora estoy luchando por seguir inscrito en Mills. Estoy tratando de recaudar este dinero con urgencia para poder seguir inscrito y completar mi licenciatura en mayo.
