As many of you already know, my best friend Sagan, has Degenerative Myelopathy and we have a very limited amount of time left with each other. Over the last couple of months his condition has digressed much faster than expected, and is now in need of more specialized care, treatment, and mobility aids. For those who don’t know, Degenerative Myelopathy is a progressive and incurable disease, often compared to ALS in humans. It slowly takes away a dog’s ability to walk, then to stand, and eventually, even the simplest movements. Sagan now has lost almost all control of his right hind leg, and is struggling to not only walk, but to even sit up or down. Despite this, Sagan’s love for life hasn’t faded, and he still always greets me with his big smile, and continues to comfort me, and everyone around him.

I’m reaching out because Sagan needs specialized care to keep him comfortable and happy for as long as possible. Physical therapy, rehabilitation treatments, and mobility aids can make a huge difference in his quality of life, but the costs are overwhelming.
