My name is Zaw Min, and I currently live in Hereford, UK. Like many others, my life has been deeply affected by the devastating earthquake that struck Sagaing, Myanmar. The destruction has been unimaginable, and countless families are now struggling to meet their most basic needs.

While rescue teams are working tirelessly on recovery efforts, one critical necessity is being overlooked—access to fresh, clean water. Without safe drinking water, survivors face the risk of dehydration and disease, further worsening their already dire situation. The extreme heat in the region only exacerbates the crisis, making water an urgent priority not just for survivors but also for rescuers who are putting their lives on the line to help. Many of these rescue teams include K9 units, with highly trained dogs searching for those trapped under rubble, all of whom also require fresh water to continue their efforts.

My family and friends in Yangon are preparing to travel to Sagaing to provide direct assistance. Our mission is simple: to distribute as much clean drinking water as possible to those in need. Even the smallest contribution can make a difference—just £1 can provide two dozen 500ml bottles of fresh water to those suffering.
