Back in February 2025 I connected with a young Mum in Gaza called Safi. Since the world imploded in 2020 it’s become so easy to connect online - and in the last 7 months I have stayed in touch with Safi as she navigates the situation for her and her babies - it’s amazing how easily we can connect but how different our worlds can be - Safi’s family made it out of Gaza and into Egypt at the beginning of this onslaught but the boarders closed before she could get her little ones out - food is available but even the basics are wildly expensive and there is simply no possibility of generating income. So I’m setting up this fundraiser to help Safi. Here’s some words from her…

Hello, other world - I am Safaa Bakr Za'rab. I am married and have two children, ages 4 and 2. We are in a place that is another world. We are in hell. I am a graduate of a bachelor's degree in laboratory medicine. Me and my family used to have the most beautiful life in Gaza, but by now you will know how people live in Gaza.

The occupation destroyed my home and the homes of the entire family. We are left with no shelter but tents - Even our livelihoods were destroyed and the lands we own and on which our livelihoods were built were taken over by the occupation.

Now I am displaced in the outskirts of Khan Yunis and we do not have any source of income to feed my children. I ask you for humanitarian assistance, even one dollar, which will help us survive this hell.
