"WE’RE DOING THIS"

SAFE USE HASTINGS
Safe use sites save lives, improve lives and improve community safety. This is what Safe Use Hastings is going to do!
“We can appreciate that some may feel helpless in the face of this tragedy. We are sympathetic to that feeling. But our town cannot thrive if we do not address the “pandemic within a pandemic” which is that people – with kids, families, jobs, aspirations and potential – are dying of drug overdoses at an alarming rate in 2021. We cannot sustain our economic growth, nor can we attract the professional talent we need, if we do not create a community where we care for each other through tragedy. There is a moral and economic imperative pointing in the same direction.” -Dr Ashley White stated in a letter to the Town Of Bancroft,
We have very practical ways for you to help:
Safe Use Hastings is applying to the federal government to approve a safe place for our community to seek help site so that people have a safe place . The site will have access to sterile supplies to curb infection, access to treatment, help to prevent overdose, health services, and peer support.
Our initiative is headed up by Dr. Ashley White, and will serve communities in Coe Hill, Maynooth and Bancroft Ontario.
Safe Use Hastings is a registered Non-Profit.
Our work is led by Lisa Fiorotto-Bickert and Dr. Ashley White. We are working in collaboration with the Bancroft Community Family Health Team and the North Hastings Community Trust.
"The locations where the the site parks will have QR codes, which will tell users where The SUH site will be located. There is no government funding for these sites, which is why we need as much PUBLIC SUPPORT as possible." -Lisa Fiorotto-Bickert
We also invite anyone to visit our website www.safeusehastings.com to get more information or to sign up and offer help; from legal assistance to drivers. All your support will be vital for our site’s success."
“We all benefit when people can use with privacy, safe supplies, and options for reducing infections and overdoses. We have applied for approval from Health Canada. The site will be mobile, and offer health services and testing.” -Dr. Ashley White
This is where your help is needed, We have bought the perfect RV to get this operation going. We are looking to pay for our office, license, insure, retrofit, staff, and run this vehicle ASAP! This way we can get started faster than waiting for the application to be approved.
RV - Paid
Equipment/retrofit/staff/operate/supplies etc - $35,000
The next phase of the application is very laborious and we could use your help by donating to the Safe Use Hastings Fund so we can get on the road to saving lives!
Thank you for reading our story and thank you all who donated!
