Help Safaa and her Family from Gaza with living expenses

Hi, My name is Suzan, a doctor from Syria, living now in Germany, and I'm fundraising for my old dear friend Safaa from Gaza. Safaa and I knew each other at the faculty of Medicine in Lattakia, Syria. Here is her story quoted:

My name is Safaa Fayez Abdel Hamid Heles, a doctor from Gaza. 2014 I graduated from Tishreen university in Syria and then went back to Gaza, I had a lot of dreams to achieve, and I have always challenged myself from a young age to build my future and be proud of myself. In 2016, I started working with a benevolent association that looks after children under 5 years of age who suffer from common childhood illnesses, growth and nutritional disorders. I Married Mohammed T. S. Hilles, an ophthalmologist who worked in El Nasar Hospital in Gaza. We have two beautiful children, Jawa is 7 and Jad is 5.

Our life was stable and peaceful until October 7th. After this day, everything turned upside down. Just like any other innocent civilian in Gaza, my children were going to school safely and happily, they were energetic and active with big dreams.

Day after day, I couldn't believe what was happening until I woke up from this nightmare too late and realized that everything I had built over the years had vanished. Now my kids cry every day, they miss our safe home, their school, their friends and their beautiful toys.

After a while, we were forced to leave our home in northern Gaza after the occupation threatened to evacuate all residents from the area. We managed to flee to Egypt, which cost us all what we had. I found myself in a state of silent confusion, unsure whether we would return to our home or not.

I was shocked when I saw our house on social media, completely gunned down. Suddenly, everything turned to ashes, our home, the place that was our refuge, our sense of safety and security, my Workplace and our dreams and ambitions, everything was destroyed. I lost everything at a glance, as if I had done nothing since my childhood. The occupation has deprived me of everything that matters to me and to my family.

I am extremely sad to ask for your help. I am used to relying on myself and working hard, but the loss this time is great. Not to mention the complicated situation in Egypt for Palestinians. We don't have official papers yet and so we are not allowed to work. we left with no choice but to do this fundraising. My husband and I are both doctors in the medical field, but we need time to stand on our feet again. We are looking for a glimmer of hope amidst the darkness that surrounds us, an opportunity to put our shattered lives together.
