Help Sadie's Trip to USASA Nationals!
Donation protected
Sadie has just crushed her first season of competitive snowboarding so far! Her hard work since first trying strapping on a snowboard in Winter 19/20 has paid off and this week we are awaiting USASA Nationals invites - we know she will attend as the Southern Vermont series champion in Rail Jam but could find she's qualified for as many as all five other events: Halfpipe, Boardercross, Slalom, Giant Slalom and Slopestyle. She completed total 30 competitions this year and finished 4th or better in 21 of them! 8 of those were first places!
While we aren't really surprised by her success, even though I thought I had prepared for this season as best I could, I find we had many more expenses than I planned on - we've blown through equipment (that's what happens when you're snowboarding as many hours a week as a part time job!) I absolutely did not expect to, attended more competitions than we anticipated (who knew she'd try every discipline? And love them?!), and will be headed to Nationals at Copper Mountain, Colorado, for more days than I had originally planned for.
I made a recent post about how much she loves snowboarding and a few amazing people messaged me encouraging me to set this up to they could help her journey.
We are very lucky to have a great support & sponsor system for making Sadie's dreams come true... it's all just so much more than I imagined and had asked them for. If you are one of the amazing daymakers that would like to help Sadie here - please know you'll be helping in these specific ways:
- Registration fees of around $700 for Nationals events & training
- Coaches fees towards her incredible Mount Snow Academy program coaches during Nationals
- Equipment, equipment, equipment! Both hard and soft goods have been put to the test this season and there are a few more things we need to replace before we take off! She dreams of a racing snowboard for Boardercross and alpine events but I'm not sure we can find one in time.
- Incidentals like Woodward Barn training time, a Nationals sweatshirt, and some trips to the candy store lol because she is just a 10 year old kid sometimes!
Sadie is very aware of the costs related to her snowboarding and I always reassure her that it's ok - we have amazing people who help us make all these things happen for her... her job is to just keep trying new things and have as much fun as possible!
If for some reason we exceed what we need for this trip, please know any additional funds will stay in Sadie's account for summer training camps and next season's equipment and registration fund.
Thank you for all the love and support you've already shown Sadie - Nationals... here we come!
