Hi, my name is Lisa,

Sadie has been part of my life since he was just 8 weeks old. From the moment I brought him home he became family. Anyone who loves animals knows they are never “just pets” — they become part of your everyday life and your heart.

Recently Sadie became very ill, and we discovered he had a 10 cm bleeding mass on his spleen that required emergency surgery. The veterinarian explained that without surgery the mass could have ruptured, which would have been life-threatening.

Hearing that was terrifying.

Sadie underwent surgery to remove the mass, and we are incredibly grateful that he made it through. However, emergency veterinary care is extremely expensive and the costs added up very quickly.

At the same time, our household has been under financial strain. My partner has been off work for a period of time due to an infection, which has made this situation even more difficult while we are trying to manage these unexpected veterinary bills.

Animals have always meant everything to me. I spend a lot of my time helping rescue and foster cats, and I believe that when animals rely on us, we do everything we can for them.

Sadie has been with me since he was a tiny kitten, and he deserves the same chance.

This fundraiser will help with the overwhelming veterinary costs so I can focus on helping Sadie recover and heal.
