Help Sadie Heal: Support Her Recovery

Our sweet dog Sadie, who is 4 years old, was recently the victim of a hit-and-run accident. She escaped from our yard and was struck by a car that fled the scene, leaving her badly injured and confused. A neighbor saw her run toward the woods, and for nearly 48 hours, she was missing. By some miracle, Sadie found her way back home, hurt, exhausted, and in urgent need of medical attention.

We rushed her to Bulger Veterinary Hospital, where she was sedated so the veterinary team could examine her injuries. Sadie had deep, severe gashes, with one on her right rear leg so deep it exposed the joint and some of the surrounding tissue was already necrotic. Despite the trauma, she has shown incredible resilience and has already gone back for three rechecks to clean and redress her wounds. Thankfully, she’s healing better than expected, but she still has a long road ahead. If her recovery slows, she may need skin grafts or additional surgical care.

Her vet bills have already reached $5,000, and her treatment is ongoing. We’re doing everything we can to give her the care she needs, but costs are projected to reach around $10,000.
